14 things I've learned.

The 14 most important things I’ve learned over the past 25 years

1.    The good you see in others is a reflection of the good you see in yourself.
2.     Emotional pain, although excruciating and all consuming, is a blessing because it forces us to grow.
3.     There is no better place to spend your days than in the company of your family,
4.    It is never too late to say sorry.
5.  Forgiveness, for yourself and for others, is one of life’s greatest blessings.
6.   Understand that we all have insecurities, don’t contribute to someone else’s, do everything in your power to make them feel good about who they are.
7. Beauty has nothing to do with what you look like and everything to do with who you are. Never stop working on you.
8.   There is no act of kindness too small
9.    You have complete control over the path that you are on.
10. Believe in yourself. In your hopes and dreams.  In your abilities to achieve them and in your ability to love.
11.  Revenge is never worth it, it will not make you feel better.
12. Tears cleanse your soul, they set you free and they are not a sign of weakness.
13.         Prayer is a very powerful tool, use it daily.
14.       God made no mistakes when he created me.

Brush it off and let it go!

Each day there are things/people that get on our nerves, upset us, or hurt us and sometimes we let these events ruin our day or take our peace. Because we let it take our peace we may, in return, treat someone the way we were treated, turning this into a vicious cycle. The first part of this cycle we cannot change, we can however change the way we react.  We can laugh it off, we can try to put ourself in their shoes, we have no idea the kind of day they have had, the people they have encountered or the heartache they are feeling.  Is this an excuse for them to treat you poorly? No, but lets face it, sometimes we can be rude and hateful to others when we have had a bad day.  Don't let these interactions make you upset, brush it off and let it go.  Life is too short to hold grudges, to try to retaliate, to have enemies, or to be too serious.  Life is meant to be enjoyed, full of love and laughter, and most of all cherished.  We only get one life, make sure it is one you can be proud of!

A new day, a new you!

Everyday I wake up and have the greatest of intentions, whether it is with weight loss, school work, work, or whatever else I may be doing that day. Although, my intentions are good not always do I follow through with what I said or complete my task to the best of my ability.   For instance, this blog, I was going to write in it everyday and have totally fallen off the wagon BUT that is okay I will strive to do better this year! This is probably true for most us, we all want to do our best but sometimes we fall short.  The first thing we have to know is that it is OKAY! The second thing is that we will inevitably fall short again, and again, and again, but that is okay, too! What matters is that each day we wake up, get out of bed, and strive to do OUR best! Everyday brings a fresh start, it allows us to put things to rest that happened previously and to try again.  We can use this new day to right our wrongs, chase our dreams, be kind to others, and anything else we wish to do, the possibilities are endless! So just because you made a bad grade on a test today or you ate something that wasn't on your diet, don't stress, let it go and do better tomorrow.  It is NEVER too late for a fresh start!
